Compressor out after 4 years of ownership

I was very disappointed that the compressor went out only owning this refrigerator for 4 years. LG end up sending their tech out after I had already pd $95 to see how much repair charge was. It was over $1500 so I bought a mini fridge to store my insulin. Kim with VP did refund me $100 for loss of food but told me they couldnt refund me money I spent on buying the mini fridge because I bought it too soon. So was I supposed to let my insulin medicine go bad while I wait on their tech which was the following week. This is horrible customer service and tells me exactly that they dont care about customers.

Not Built to Last

This product is poor. At 5 years and 3 months it no longer freezes or maintains the proper fridge temperature. Initially the fridge froze food and beverages placed near the rear of the unit. Then the unit began to fail at cooling. A new compressor was installed in 12/23 as of July the freezer is broken ice is no longer being made and the fridge is not cooling properly. Would not purchase LG products again.

Solid compressor issue

I bought this refrigerator in the summer of 2020. Worked fine until the compressor randomly had an electrical issue about a month ago. LG worked hard to shorten our repair timeline and we had a working refrigerator back up and running quickly.

Terrible ice maker durability.

The ice maker quit working I had purchased the extended warranty when I bought the refrigerator. It took five weeks before I finally got a technician to replace the icemaker and it turned out to be a 45 minute repair. I will never buy another LG product and absolutely will not waste my money on an extended warranty.

We have had it for less than four years and we just had a new compressor installed because the original one had a dead ground. This is a frequent occurrence. Mine was under warranty and replaced with no charge but I had to wait four weeks. Unacceptable

Horrible problems

Horrible. After 13 months it started to freeze the food in my fridge. LG sent the claim to a local shop who replaced the inside back panels in the fridge and freezer along with the control panel on the back. It is STILL freezing food. Now they want to replace the evaporator coils and compressor which involves welding. This is a MAJOR disappointment and inconvenience and I will NEVER by anything LG again.

I really liked my refrigerator. Other than some minor issues with the sturdiness of the plastic. But on August 8 the condenser went out and I lost a huge amount of food in the freezer But I have to say LG was very good about standing behind their product. It did take a while couple of weeks They sent a repairman out and he replaced it and it seems to be working great now.

LG poor service

First off LG customer service departments needs some serious restructuring and should focus on more of customer first approach. Weve had the unit 4 years the first issue happened 2 years ago with a faulty freezer door track. That was repaired no problem. 2nd issue was a faulty linear compressor and seals. This happened Aug 8thweve been waiting 2 weeks. Ive had to reach out to customer service so much it feels like a full-time job. I keep getting bounced around from Home Depots Extended warranty to LG customer parts and services to the service installer. Fyi the service installer received our parts from LG on Aug 10th but he told me they were waiting to install my parts until they confirmation from LG they would be reimbursed from LG. Even though I have an extended warranty the servicer asked me to provide a copy of my extended warranty which LG already has on file. When I called LG parts and services to confirm and request a service request number they said my RN# had already been closed by the servicer and parts and service and been completed. Well that was not the case LG parts and services said they would look into it 48 hours go by no word from LG or the installer... I called LG parts and services and said it was a mistake and service had been re-requested with the servicer. All this time my family has been living out of ice chests. So far Ive spent $150 on ice and $400 on take-out. I reached out yet again to the servicer SAKO and they said they were still waiting to hear back from LG even though I had connected them with LG and LG sent them an email stating along with an APN from LG that I had full coverage. The servicer replied back saying I talked to the wrong department at LG and they need to hear from LGs claim department. I mean what kind of service is this?? So I posted my issue on social media and instantly get their social rep contact me to schedule a call request with LGs presidential customer liaison We was kind enough to offer and recommend I take the $250 loss of food reimbursement while he looks into this matter. after I followed up with the presidential liaison two days later. The liaison said he got a hold of the servicer and the servicer would contact me to schedule the installation. Its been a 4 days still no word I gave up on messaging the installer because he has not returned any of my messages. The only resolution LG could offer seeing how its been documented that service was completed which it has not was to schedule with another servicer and start the entire process all over again or wait an additional 10 days unrepaired to qualify for a depreciated refund of $700.00. Well $700 buck doesnt pay for a new fridge I paid $1800 for and my waited time and resources. This whole process has been completely frustrating. And its concerning because we just purchased a new LG washer dryer from LOWES 2months ago and an LG TV from COSTCO 2 years ago. And I feel their a ticking time bomb and Im waiting for them to exploed...

Failing after 14 months and hard to get help

Where do I begin My compressor is going out after 14 mos. It was verified by a local repairman who no longer does warranty work on LG because their reimbursements take forerver. All reps except Angela were very unhelpful and lacked experience It seems as though no one else in the area does either until Angela seems to have found one. He comes on Aug 30 so well see. Im still very skeptical. What conerns me is that I have a failing compressor and possibly no one in the area who will fix it thereby making LGs 5 year warranty completely invalid for anyone in my area. If the repair indeed does happen it will help change my attitude toward LG and Im willing to upgrade my review. But it took me two weeks of callng regularly to fianally get someone out who may be able to fix it. Still the problem of a failing compressor after 14 mos. is really unacceptable especially after paying over 2100$. Its compounded by poor telephone customer service and chats online were also poor. Compounded again by a lack of repairmen in my area who will even touch warranty work on an LG refrigerator. If this fridge fails before Aug 30 and I have no fridte at all I will decide then how I will proceed but so far the whole process has turned me off on LG. Im hopeful you will now do something to regain my trust. I wish you would just at least replace it for free.

Terrible customer service

We purchased this refrigerator May 16 of this year and two weeks later we left on our extended vacation. Came home to find the refrigerator had failed. LG sent out a repair man and fixed the problem. Then I requested something for the food lost and is all Ive ever gotten is a runaround so their customer service is terrible in my opinion.

Worst fridge

This refrigerator has been the most disappointing appliance Ive ever owned. After just six months of use it has frozen many items far beyond what I anticipated. The top shelves are not adjustable which is quite frustrating and the side storage is very limited. I regret buying it and wish I had returned it.

Large Fridge perfect fit for my kitchen.

I purchase this fridge back in 2021 and it has failed once and repaired recently by LG trade square. I am little disappointed the fact it took about 2 weeks for it repaired from ordering the parts and 2 appointments to fix the unit. I am hoping the unit can last me at least a decade or 15 years like my last unit.

Bad refrigerator compressor

I am so disappointed. I bought my refrigerator 2 1/2 years ago and now it doesnt work at all. I am told the compressor failed. I lost lots of food as well as my confidence in LG. Sure the warranty will cover some of the repair. But I think of my old refrigerator lasting 30 years and believe I made a bad decision when I replaced it with an LG.

This refrigerator sucks. Within two years it was not cooling and need to be serviced. The guy who came told me I bought a lemon product. I did not hear him. Six years later the compressor fail. I trusted the brand name but guess what. I found last week that LG and Home depot are continuing to sale this refrigerators despite the large number of failures. I feel betray by LG and Home depot. I will not buy any LG products in the future.

French Door refrigerator

Bought this fridge in 2021 and compressor failed in July of 2024. Im not an expert on this but would imagine a compressor should last at least 10 years or more. Had to pay $200 service charge to fix and took 3 weeks with no fridge and lost a bunch of food.

I bought this fridge in 2020 and the co.prezsor already had to be replaced. It was under warranty but after less than 4 years? Also there were a lot of issues with getting it serviced. First time the tech showed up without the correct part. Then when he was to come back with the correct part he did not show up for 3 days or more. Would not recommend buying an LG refrigerator to anyone.

I purchased this refrigerator approx 2 1/2 weeks ago. So far I have been very happy with my purchase. Pro: Refrigerator runs quietly ice and water functions work good. Con: Both doors on the refrigerator must be opened to access anything in the long drawer compartment under the veg fruit drawers. The freezer drawer that holds the ice tray does not slide out as easily as I would like so I can have better access of the ice tray.

Great customer service

The compressor stopped working on my refrigerator that was less than four years old and I was happy to find out that it was still covered under a warranty. LG ordered the part contracted the work with a repairman and the work was done within the week. They also gave me $150 to help replace the food that was lost due to the refrigerator not keeping the items cold or frozen Great service

Top of the line performance and looks

Excellent product. I use the water dispenser with filter and am now drinking tap water for the first time in years Ice dispenser works flawless. Freezer has ample space. LED lighting and quiet operation are magnificent. Ive never been a fan of stainless but this appliance sparkles and looks beautiful in my kitchen. Combine that with a high rating in Consuner Reports and this gets five stars

Fine product unnecessary drama

The product is fine meets expectations. Was limited in options due to available space. Unfortunately there was slight damage to all handles which required LG to ship parts to me to be replaced. This process took WAAAAAAAY too long. First of all I needed 3 handles but the initial delivery only included 1. When I called I was told multiple shipments were arranged and the balance s/b delivered within 5*7 business days. After about 10 day I called back to discover that no subsequent orders and therefore deliveries were made. What a surprise. Anyway after another call and another order the final materials were delivered. Lastly I was advised that I need to do the replacement. Well see how that goes hopefully not future calls to LG on this matter. Net net the product is fine and is performing as expected. Its just that all of the ancillary drama should never had taken place. Thanks for listening.

Have had it 3 yrs the compressor went out of it in May 2024 it took them till July 22 to finally come and fix it after 3 no show no call appointments. Was living out of a cooler I was very depressed and had alot of anxiety waiting for them to finally come and the people I talked to at LG didnt seem to care too much very disappointed with the whole situation.

We have had this refrigerator now for several years. I do like the narrow water dispenser in the door however it does seem to vibrate oftern and moves jars together in door creating a noise. We are now experiencing refrig temps of anywhere from 23F to 38F but never consistent. Periodically items are freezing. Tried the service line and only got automated chat. After explaining everything it suggested a local service company. I agreed but then the chat was terminated and I wasnt able to chat back nor line up a technician. Very irritating. I just need probably a new thermostat. Need live people to converse with Issue still exists

Our refrigerator was just over three years old when it stopped working Saturday 7/13/2024. I called to arrange for repairs on Monday 7/15/2024. It wasnt until Thursday morning 7/18/2024 that we got a response scheduling repairs for the NEXT Tuesday 7/23/2024. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THIS EXPERIENCE Fortunately the local repairman called shortly later and arranged to come out that afternoon. He did a fine job fixing our unit. He told us not to put food in the fridge for two days to give it time to cool down. We had to throw out most of our food from the freezer and fridge. We are grateful to the repairman for this prompt courteous work. We were disappointed that our fridge needed repairs when it was just over three years old. We were disappointed at how long it took to inform us when it was scheduled to be repaired. We were disappointed at the proposed repair date. We were disappointed that we had to discard most of our food in the fridge and freezer. Overall it was not a pleasant experience.

30 width French door option

I only wish there was a Thinq version in this size to have everything connected in the same app and a few other flexible shelf configurations. I am overall very happy with my purchase

Product Failed/Terrible Customer Service

I bought this refrigerator just over three years ago and it already quit working. We came home from a week long vacation to find that it stopped cooling and all the food in the refrigerator and freezer sections was spoiled. The self-diagnostic feature says it is working properly but the smell of hundreds of dollars worth of rotted food that permeated my kitchen said otherwise. Supposedly it is still covered under warranty but it has now been almost three weeks and LG still has not set up repair or replacement. It took several days to get an answer from customer service and then I was told they couldnt find an available repair service in my area upstate NY. The case was turned over to scheduling but I did not hear from them. On a follow up contact that I had to initiate I was told scheduling could take 7-10 days to get back to me. I am approaching 3 weeks without a refrigerator and no information about warranty repair or replacement. So my current choices are to wait and unknown amount of time to see if warranty repair becomes an option or go spend another $1500-$1600 on a new refrigerator on top of the several hundred dollars it cost to replace the spoiled food.

I thought I was buying a quality product. Until my 3 1/2 year old $1400 fridge died. The compressor just stopped working lost a fridge and freezer full of food. Then I found out LG has a class action lawsuit against them for their lineal compressor. Not impressed. The only good thing to come out of it was that it was covered by warranty and the repairman that came to fix it was a master at his trade. I did ask him if the replacement was the same as the original compressor he said it was an updated version? I guess time will tell

I purchased this model refrigerator in June and have had it installed for 1.5 months. So far its been great I do wish that the freezer top drawer had a higher back as things have a tendency to slide out the back and under the drawer if stacked too high. I also wish it would connect to the trouble shooting app LG has just in case I ever needed it.

Im so happy with my new LG fridge. Ive never had an ice maker or water feature in my old fridge and having to fill a Brita and ice cube trays every other day was a real pain. I cant believe how easy it is now to get ice or a cold drink of water.

I purchased this refrigerator in November of last year and it is great. It has a large storage capacity for its size. The ice cube maker is quick and refills on its own when it senses the cubes getting low. The freezer compartment is also a great size. My only complaint is the deli drawer. The draw broke in July which is disappointing because its still new.

Really nice refrigerator has all the bells and whistles the front water dispenser is the best and one of a kind on a refrigerator this size. Kudos to the designers at LG for thinking of a small space appliance with the features of a big appliance. The division and compartments make it great to store different kinds of food and I love that you can select produce meat or dairy on the multi function drawers.
