Pros: Much quieter than our prior dryer. Lots of options/functionality and the app works pretty well. Nice appearance--I like the look. Cons: Very disappointed in steam function--steam function leaves clothes completely soaked. It was one of the reasons we bought this model and we are really angry that this doesnt work as advertised. Potential quality issues? Our drum is already squeaking but that may have been caused by the repair person trying to fix the steam function. No delay start function?

Bought this as a companion piece to the WM5500HVA washing machine. It has a HUGE capacity at 7.4 cubic feet while have the dimensions of a much smaller machine making it fit perfectly in our tight laundry room space. Lots of great features including AI drying. Will lengthen or shorten the drying time depending on the dampness of the load. It also has a steam function which is so great. No more throwing ice cubes in the dryer when I want to take the wrinkles out of my dress shirts. Very happy with this purhcase.

Defect dryer sold and No support from LG at all

I recently purchased LG DLGX5501V dryer. The dryer stopped heating after one week the unit was installed in our home. It took for LG Tech guy come out three times to get it fixed the problem. Every time the tech guy came out he had to order a different parts to fix the issue. It took total 3 weeks to get it repaired. During this process it was really frustrating dealing with LG customer service could not help at all. They couldnt even get hold of their own tech guy to confirm when he would come back to work on my dryer. Obviously the unit was defect unit stop working after just a week. LG should have replacement with a new unit rather than having me go through this frustration for three weeks dealing with the problem.

Defect and not being cared

I purchased this brand new unit early May got installed on May 30th. The dryer stop heating after one week. I started communicating with LG customer service for over two weeks but it has not been fixed yet. I requested to replace this defect unit with new one but they refused to do so.

The Worst Customer Service

The worst customer service EVER You have to call them and wait no less than an hour then be connected to a person with almost no information. Every time I called I got connected to the same person. I was scheduled to receive my order then it did not arrive. I had to contact them to find out about its status but they did not know After lots of communication I finally received my order after about 10 days I had to get daily off from my job because of their lack of responsibilities. After delivering my order which included an installation I received a call that they do not have time for the installation until about 20 days UNBELIVABLE The worst thing is that they are trying to convince you to connect with another team or company instead of doing these communications internally by their own. I had to communicate with the delivery company and then communicate and follow up with a separate installation company. It was not something I purchased. If you have not placed your order please consider another brand Very disappointed with this order and will not suggest it to anyone

Great product with worst customer service all time

Product has been great. Love the app that notifies when cycle is complete. Customer service at LG is the absolute worst Ive ever dealt with. They are unable to solve very basic issues and when you ask for a manager they tell you one will contact you in 24-48 hours. I spent 3 days for a total of 5 hours on hold and transferred around departments to schedule the install appointment after the original install was unsuccessful. If everything goes smooth and product has no issues its a great product. If you have ANY issue be warned customer service will be a painful experience.

Very Good Dryer - Lots of Settings and Features

I went with the LG product after a lot of research looking for quality and dependability - and value. Im very happy we did in spite of the learning curve this is our first foray into the world of modern smart dryers. Were still learning the settings - as far as the best settings for various clothing type. Though there are numerous preset choices that cover the world of clothing and linen - theyre not necessarily a 1:1 correlation to the washing instruction terms found on clothing labels. Tumble Dry Low for example is indicated on the majority of our clothing including sweatshirts. However if you try to dry a load of sweatshirts using the Delicates setting the only preset you might assume correlates to Tumble Dry Low youll find they dont completely dry even with customizing the Dry level to the max. It takes some trial and error with the settings for us at least. Also we find the AI setting not to be very useful as you cannot customize the heat level by default it is set to a higher heat level than we like. We do like the steam feature though - we use it for wrinkle free pants after the regular drying cycle completes - it works great And we very much appreciate the overall efficiency - a huge improvement over the old fashioned dry we had previously. Were looking forward to mastering the settings. Weve downloaded a couple of settings from the app that werent already preloaded - including Rack Dry - which works with a rack we bought separately that sits in the drum so you can dry lay flat to dry items or anything you simply dont want to be tumbling around like shoes.

Just one week after delivery of our new washer dryer the power button the start/stop button and the rectangular selection screen went dark. These all still function but do not illuminate. Unplugging and re-plugging the dryer makes the buttons light up correctly again but only for a few uses.

Would like to be able to keep settings I want.

I bought this a few weeks ago. The washer doesnt have a way to use cold water. It has to be set every time to do a load. Even if I select cold when the load is done it is obvious that hot or warm water has been used. Sometimes the gas dryer doesnt always get clothes completely dry. I tried the steam setting in the dryer to get the wrinkles out of a couple of tops and they came out more wrinkled and wet So much for steaming. The washer spins very well and quietly.
